To honor one of the greatest American poets of the nineteenth century, RAA planned and designed new interpretive exhibits at his birthplace on Long Island. In addition to the biographical presentation of Whitman's life and work, one of the goals of the exhibition is geographical Ñ to present the natural beauty of the region, to unlock for visitors something of Whitman's lifelong love of his "fish-shaped island."
