Title: American Folk Art Museum
Project Description
A 12,800-square-foot expansion connects the main museum, the former Lorraine Motel, site of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination, with two Main Street buildings. One is the boarding house where James Earl Ray allegedly fired the fatal shots. Never-before-seen evidence allows visitors to draw their own conclusions about the event, and new exhibits explore the influence of the Civil Rights Movement nationally and internationally.
